Larry McGuinness is the Managing Director of McGuinness Real Estate, bringing more than 23 years of international experience in real estate investment, asset management, development and engineering across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Holding both South African and Irish nationality, Larry was educated in the United Kingdom before completing a Civil Engineering degree at the University of Cape Town and an MBA with Distinction from Durham University Business School. He has also completed executive programmes at Harvard Business School and MIT Sloan School of Management.
His career has progressed from engineering and design management roles with globally recognised firms including Arup and WSP to executive leadership positions with Osool Integrated Real Estate, AtkinsRéalis, NORR Group and Ted Jacob Engineering Group. His expertise spans the full real estate lifecycle, including acquisition due diligence, asset and property management, development management, master planning, redevelopment, procurement, construction delivery and asset optimisation.
Most recently, Larry served as Executive Director – Development at Osool Integrated Real Estate, where he led value-enhancement initiatives across the Saudi GOSI Pension Fund real estate portfolio. His responsibilities included highest and best use studies, technical due diligence, redevelopment strategies, asset repositioning and capital investment planning across commercial, residential, hospitality and mixed-use assets.
Throughout his career, Larry has led major project teams and business units comprising large international teams of professionals while overseeing projects and portfolios valued in the billions of dollars. His landmark project and investment experience spans the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
Complementing his institutional experience, Larry has established and managed a private real estate investment portfolio spanning Dubai, Cape Town and Prague, focused on prime locations offering long-term capital preservation and sustainable value growth.
Based in Prague, Larry leads McGuinness Real Estate with the support of a select network of associates across the Czech Republic and the Middle East — combining local market knowledge with cross-border investment and development expertise.
